Aerial  Port Gymnastics
est. 1977

Aerial Port Gymnastics Center was established in July 1977. Since its beginning, Aerial Port has provided quality gymnastics instructions to children of all ages. Our programs include preschool, tumbling, gymnastics classes, and competition teams. Students have an opportunity to participate in beginner through advanced classes in a fun but disciplined environment. Each week presents new challenges with a wide range of different activities. Our staff is eager to work with each student...Where every child is a star!

In September of 2024, Aerial Port began it's 47th season. In May 2025 we will host our 47th Preschool Exhibition and Class Competition. A fun time for all participants. Please join us at one of West Virginia's premier gymnastics centers!

Our History

Established as one of the first few clubs in West Virginia. The gym has showcased many individual and state team champions as well as regional winners, National competitors and college scholarship athletes, and the home of Mary Lou Retton..The 1984 Olympic Gold All-Around Champion.
In 1982, Coach Rafaloski was selected as USA women's coach to South Africa where Mary Lou Retton won the Sanlam Cup and the Johannesburg Invitational. Also in the mid-1980 Gary coached the West Virginia Allstars to 1st place finish at the national judge's cup in Los Angeles, California. In 1984, Gary was selected to serve as a staff member in the gymnastics venue at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. He was also a former WVU assistant coach and served as an executive committee member on the W.V. State board from the 1980s to 2015.
Aerial Port Gymnastics Center was selected in the 1980s as of the three test sites in the country by the Mcdonalds Corporation for a gymnastics grass roots program. This program helped initiate and introduce children of all ages to the sport of gymnastics. Recently, Aerial Port has produced 4 individual Regional all-around champions (6 states) and won numerous invitational meets in multiple states and the Presidential Classic in Orlando, Florida in 2017 for the level 6 division. Numerous State titles have been won by our Mountain Magic team members in the past years as well as regional and national competitors.
