Our Team

Aerial Port's - Mountain Magic competitive team is a member of USA Gymnastics.  We offer levels 2 - 10 with year round training.  Meet season runs November through March, with upper level gymnasts competing through May.

Students are evaluated in the class programs and are invited to participate in the Pre-Team Testing Program prior to joining the Competition Team.

Students must demonstrate discipline, good work ethic, sound fundamentals and a positive attitude.

Team members will have the opportunity to compete in State as well as out of State competitions.
Parent support and strong attendance is required for competitive team support.

Special Recognition

Shari Retton, Aerial Port's first graduating senior went on to successfully compete at West Virginia University and became their 1st All American Gymnast.

In 1982 Coach Rafaloski was selected as the USA coach to go to South Africa where elite gymnast Mary Lou Retton debut her famous "Retton Salto" on the uneven bars and won the All Around in the Sanlam Cup and the South Africa Invitational International Meets.

Aerial Port continued success through the 1980"s with many indiviudal and State team titles. 1984 brought the summer games to Los Angeles where the world watched Fairmont & Mary Lou Retton win the Olympic Gold medal in the All Around.  Coach Rafaloski was called to work at the Olympic games as a staff memeber and was able to witness history in the making.

1986 through 1988 coach Gary served as an assistant coach with the West Virginia University Women's gymnastics teams.  Also, Gary had Aerial Port team members compete the National judges Cup Invitationals in Oklahoma, Reno Nevada and Los Angeles California where he coached the West Virgnia All Star team, to a 1st Place Finish.

Since then Coach Gary has produced numerous gymnasts who have competed regionally and Nationally and several whom have received scholarships in gymnastics, walk on gymnasts or competed in other college sports.

In 2004, Aerial Port's teams were renamed to Moutain Magic as we continue to travel extensively representing the gym, the greater Fairmont Area and the State of West Virginia.
